Kid's Bedroom Ideas

Spring seems to make all colors a little more vibrant and I tend to find inspiration all around me.  I've been known to bird walk on more than one occasion, and a recent web search proved to be no different.  While searching for something in particular I suddenly found myself drawn to amazing kid bedroom decorating ideas!  My children have one foot out of the nest, but I thought I would share with you some of the wonderful things I came across so that those of you who are still surrounded by your little brood might draw some inspiration and ideas.

Monograms are something we obviously LOVE, so the first few pictures profile some creative ways to incorporate your child's initials into their decor.

Monogram Headboard
This is a classic.  I love this look no matter the shape, style or color of the headboard.  This is something that will never go out of style and is a wonderful keepsake.  How special would it be for your grandchildren to sleep in their momma or daddy's bed when they come to visit you in future years?

Wall Monograms
The newest trend for new momma's and daddy's as they welcome their newborns!  If done correctly, this wall art can carry the child on up into their teen years.
Notice the monogrammed bumper pad in this photo!  We approve!!!

Monogram Doors
I love this idea!  You can either use vinyl letters or you can paint a monogram on the door leading to the bedroom!

Other Inspirational Rooms
The additional photos below are of rooms that caught my eye.  Being Southern, I love color and lots of fabric!  Many of these ideas are not only appealing to the eye, but show a lot of creative storage ideas that will continue to be functional as the child grows.

I adore this canopy attached to the wall of this room as well as the creative paint on the wall.

Ok.  What little boy (or big boy, including the daddy) wouldn't think this was a cool room???

Wonderful plan for a shared room!

This is such a neat idea.  Not only would it serve as the extra bed that all of us need in the nursery for those sleepless nights, it will go on to be a great seating space for the teen years.

I adore the idea of using different sized hoops loaded with wonderful fabrics as wall decor!  This is a look that can easily change as you change the decor in the room.  Fun and functional!

Tree House Inspiration
The tree house will always be in style.  The following two rooms are a boy's dream (and girl's if they are tom boys like I was growing up)!

Princess Rooms
The title says it all.  Any little girl would feel like a princess in either of the two rooms below.

I hope you have been inspired by these photos!  I am always amazed by the creativity that abounds from others.  The main thing to remember is make every space your own.  Take inspiration and run with it.  Personalize with monogrammed pillows, headboards, linens, etc.  Do not limit your imagination or creativity!
In the South we have a saying that we live by, "Go Big or Go Home"!
